Johnny Aronson, C/O '13

As I like to say, "successful completion" is a relative term, but Johnny graduated his intermediate obedience class and he has the diploma to prove it!

Photo: "Successful completion" is a relative term, but Johnny graduated (before Brian... again)! Thank you Leah and Dog House Training Academy!
Diploma
As a final test, Johnny had to go to his bed and stay there while Leah, our instructor, came by to distract him.

Can he do it?
Yes!
Johnny, always trying to see what he can get away with, happily flipped right over to allow Leah to pet his belly.  He didn't get off the bed though, so Leah said he passed!

Game time!  Instead of "Where's Waldo?" we'll call it "Where's Johnny?"

Can you find him?

Obi Update: 16 weeks tomorrow!  New belly bump picture coming soon :~)

What.A.Week.

Been a longgggg week since I posted last.  Spent last Sunday night miserable as ever and as a result spent Monday morning (alllll morning) in the emergency room.  Let's just say, while we were counting on meeting our deductible this year, we thought we had until at least June... turns out we had until the very middle of April.

Anyways, the ER doctor gave us a bit of a scare by telling me that the baby is positioned such that it is smushing the tube that carries pee from my kidney to my bladder, causing a back-up of pee in my kidney, and therefore back pain- a diagnosis of hydrophrenosis.  A day later, the OB said that yes, this is likely happening, but that it's an odd day when it doesn't happen in a pregnant lady, and that is it likely not the cause of my back pain.  Whatever it is, I'm starting physical therapy again on Wednesday, so let's hope that it helps!

And then the vomiting started... I swear, I just bragged too much about such an easy first trimester :~/

Taking care of Mama
Almost a week later, my back still hurts, but I am mobile.  My skin is dry and flaky, but it is not itchy.  My stomach is weak, but I am eating. 24.5 more weeks until baby, and then the worrying can really begin!

15 weeks, 1 day
Yesterday, I got the first comment by someone who didn't previously know I was pregnant, but did just by looking at me!  Weird... I don't think the pictures always do my baby belly justice, but I'll keep trying!

Welcome home from my first day back to work
Came home from work on Thursday to this sight (^^^).  Six dog toys in 25 square feet?!  It's pretty clear who owns this house... as I told Brian, if I used hash-tags, I'd say #getusedtoit

Johnny's new trick:  You know these things that are supposed to keep dogs and babies safe?

Well, Johnny has learned to pull them out of the outlets.  I'm pretty sure they won't keep anyone safe all chewed up!  Next house, we get the sliding ones without removable pieces!

Less than three weeks until Brian graduates!  Just over six weeks until Brian starts working!  Less than three weeks until I see my parents!  Ahhhhhhhh...!

Liars

Whoever said that the second trimester is the easiest, you're a LIAR.  I don't know how the next 11.5 weeks are going to go, but this past week has been MISERABLE.  I knew the first trimester was too easy!
Headaches, intense back pain, and the itchiest eczema breakout ever.  Just call me Katniss- I'm the girl (whose skin is) on fire!  Calling the doctor tomorrow... I'll keep you posted.

14 Weeks (4/10/13).  White makes things appear larger than they actually are!

Just soaking my fiery feet.  I think I spent more time this weekend in the bathtub/soaking than out of the water :~/

Resting

Woof Woof (Welcome Back)!

Blogging is not my strong suit.  I have good intentions, and there are no shortage of stories to share, but I just can't seem to get to it.  This time, I plan on sharing this blog with more people in hopes that it will hold me more accountable for posting!

It's silly to try and recall the past 11 months, so we'll just start anew with NOW:
NOW... Johnny just had his second birthday (my big sweet boy!).  He is enrolled in an intermediate obedience training class and doing very well.  He is learning things like "go to bed," "heel," and to respond to commands from afar.  We love our trainer, Leah, and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Second Birthday Collage

Happy Second Birthday, Johnny!
NOW... Brian is graduating from ASU in less than 5 weeks and just accepted a job offer with McCarthy Building Companies.  He starts June 3rd in the field, with the intention of moving to the office to estimate.  I am so, so, so proud of him!
NOW... We are thinking about testing the market to see for how much our house might sell.  We have grown to love our house, our neighborhood, and especially our neighbors, but it's a good time to see what's out there, especially with the market turning around and both our jobs 20+ miles away.
NOW... And here's the really big NOW news (and likely the direction this blog will go), Johnny is going to be a big brother!  I am due October 9th and we could not be more excited!  Earlier this week we were able to hear the heartbeat and got some really great ultrasound pics.  I'm 13.5 weeks, and everything is right on schedule.  It's been a pretty easy pregnancy so far; here's hoping for 26 more easy weeks!  We're calling the baby Obi for now- Brian has always had a creative list of names for his future children, and topping the list is "Obafemi."  Figuring that name was a bit too much, we shortened it to Obi!

Obi, at 13 Weeks.  No, that's not a huge nose, but Obi's hand up near his/her mouth!

Baby Bump at 13 Weeks
We'll keep you posted on Obi, Johnny, and all the adventures of the Aronson Clan.  Keep bothering me for updates!  I'll need your help to get in the habit!
