Famous

You've got a whole lot of clothes and books, Baby, but not too many toys. When you got a Target gift card for participating in one of the Baby Rebel studies, I knew just what to buy with it!

You love it, and now you're Facebook famous!

New Couch!

Brian and I have been waiting years for this day. Today, we got a new couch!! Thanks to everyone who has given us hand-me-down couches over the years (Johnny thanks you too... for his snacks)- we'd have spent a lot if years sitting on the floor if it wasn't for you!

Shabbat sh'comfy!!

Mother's Day

I had the most wonderful Mother's Day weekend! We went to Phoenix for Brian's work conference. They put us up in a hotel, paid for food, and provided entertainment! I don't have too many pictures, so you'll just have to believe me as I tell you how relaxing and fun it was :~)

Friday morning when we got in Brian had a meeting, so Megan took me and Leah to visit SARRC. It was so fun to go back and see everyone although a few families I really wanted to see weren't at school that day. We were even the special guests at an always entertaining finance all-staff meeting! I told Danny if he offered me enough money to cover mine and Brian's salary+ then I'd come back, but I don't think that's happening, so onward we go.

Friday night Amanda and Josh stayed with Leah while Brian and I indulged in a nice dinner downtown a quick walk from the hotel.

Saturday Brian was in meetings all day so Leah and I met Bubbie, Grandpa, and Uncle Jeffrey for breakfast. Later, our old neighbors came to the hotel to swim with us.

Saturday night another SARRCie, Sam, stayed with Leah while Brian and I attended the McCarthy 150 birthday bash. It was cool meeting all the people Brian talks about from work, and McCarthy really knows how to throw a party!

Sunday morning I got the greatest card from Leah stating, "you don't have to wipe anyone's anything" today. Sweet!

We walked to a yummy little breakfast place downtown, took a short morning nap, and then went to the zoo. It was pretty much the best day!

Another plane ride home with a sleeping baby and thus ended my first Mother's Day (weekend). It was perfect in every way and filled with lots of reminders of how lucky I am to be the mommy of the sweetest baby girl and with the best daddy by my side (or in meetings).

Shout out to my other kid, Johnny!

Sweet Seven

Seven months old! I know I say it every month, but it is completely insane how fast time goes with this sweet girl in our lives.

Highlights from the past month...

Swimming-

Sitting and rolling-

Eating and drinking-

Playing and swinging-

Traveling to Phoenix-

My love continues to grow for this girl. So much. By the hour. I can't even contain it (nor do I try).

Up next: great eight!

100

We are moving and this is currently happening:

Maybe I'll sweat out my last few pregnancy pounds.

Need our new address? Just ask!

Gestures

Given my background and work experience, I am hyper-aware (annoyingly so) of developmental milestones and atypical behaviors.

Gesturing is a good thing. But I'm just not quite sure how I'm supposed to feel about this...

New House

So the new house isn't official- yet.  The inspection came back pretty good and the appraisal was right on target, so there are just a few more things to work out before we can close.  However, lots of you have been asking for pictures, so here they are...

Some Days

Some days life isn't easy.

Other days, I wake up and remember to do this and I know it will be a good one...

Thanks for thinking of me, Megan :~)

Best Weekend

This past weekend was the best we've had in a long time, although it didn't start out that way.  No siree... it started out when I nicked Leah's thumb (the one she sucks, of course, because why wouldn't it be?) while cutting her nails Friday morning.  It. Was. Traumatizing!  Blood was everywhere for a long time, and blood doesn't bother me so much.  But when it comes from my baby because of ME, it becomes downright gut wrenching.  Next time, I'm sure I'll blow it off, no big deal.  This time, however, I cried with her.

Mama's Make-shift Bandaid
Then, we met Daddy at temple for Tot Shabbat services.

Shabbat Shalom!
Saturday morning, we went on a nice family walk.  Leah was pretty relaxed (ok, asleep) in her big girl stroller.

Can I ride next time?
Post-walk Drinks
Then we went to check out the almost-ours new house.  More on this in a later blog post!

Playing on the office floor
Then, the best part... Leah went swimming for the first time with her friend Henry.  She loved it!  I knew she would; she totally loves bath time.  I can't wait to take her again!

Water Baby!
Sunday morning, Leah and Johnny played a little fetch.

The start of a best friendship?
After another family walk, we headed to the CNT membership picnic.  I was a BAD mom and forgot Leah's hat (don't worry, Bubbie, she was wearing sunscreen), but she donned her sunglasses most of the afternoon.

Big girl swing!
First sno-cone... she went after it later
That afternoon, we had a play date with Presley (and Winnie).

Thanks for thinking I'm funny, Presley.  I guess my jokes don't work on Leah anymore!
Make-out session with Winnie
 And then...

POOPED!
