Five Months

So at the end of every month I dump my pictures and upload them to Sky Drive. It's great because then I have room on my phone for more pictures, and our family can access them without me having to send every. single. one.

The problem is that Leah's birthday is at the beginning of the month. So if I want to post pictures from the previous month of her life on the blog, I gotta blog from the computer, not my phone. And that rarely happens!

So today you get this, and if you want more pictures (and oh aren't they cute?!), just check back in my blog-

Stats: Leah had a sick doctor appointment at the end of February and had actually lost an ounce since her four month checkup three weeks earlier, weighing in at 14.13. I'm sure she's flirting with 15 pounds by now! She can still fit into some three month onesies, but is wearing mostly 6-9 month pants. Her legs are just so long!

Milestones: This past month was Leah's first full month at school. They love her (who doesn't?!). She starts and ends her days with a smile. Like, when she was sick her teacher called because she was crying (and wheezing, but whatever). That's how happy she normally is!

And, in big news, Leah rolled over! Only like three times, and not in the past week, but she did it and she was nice enough to do it at home when both Brian and I were there. I'm expecting a lot more of that this month!

Leah had two new potential boyfriends born recently. Both had a somewhat rough start to life, but she's mentioned a few times how excited she is to meet them and how happy she is that they're here!

Our sweet girl just keeps growing and learning and smiling and talking and moving and I love it! Half birthday, here we come!

Baseball!

Oh how Brian and I love baseball!  Seriously, the single most upsetting thing about leaving Phoenix is not being there for Spring Training every March (sorry everyone!).  We've been so excited about taking Leah to her first game, so we headed down this weekend.

We were at the Cubs new ballpark and the day started off very promising with free slices of Giordano's and some family pictures.

And then this happened:
If you can't tell, that's rain- and a lot of it!
Trying to stay dry!
Let's just say it was spring training for the grounds crew as well as the players and they needed some extra practice.  The tarp didn't go on very well, which means it didn't come off very well, which means the field got pretty messed up... and they cancelled the game :~/

Watching to see if the grounds crew can get it right
What really stinks is that after it rained, it was so beautiful outside!

Sunday, take 2... we made it to the ballpark in Surprise with the family for a game between the White Sox and Rangers before heading home.  This time, the weather cooperated and we got some good baseball and a nap on the lawn!

It was kind of sunny out this time!
Leah was the only one who remembered her shades

So excited for the regular season to start... you know, so we can watch baseball every night and forget to go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

GO D'BACKS!

It's March!

March has arrived, bringing daily celebrations. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, vacation, spring training game, or college basketball game, there is A LOT to celebrate and enjoy!

(My sweet girl, sans headband. Oops!)

It's also the time of year I write songs. Someone really should hire me... :~)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

With ref’s whistles blowing

And everyone yelling

Their favorite team’s cheer

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the hap-happiest season of all

With the flops and the cheaters

And great buzzer beaters

The refs make the call

It’s the hap-happiest season of all

There’ll be tickets for buying

And losing teams crying

Post shots from up high and down low

There’ll be three pointer stories

And tales of the glories

Of champions long, long ago

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

There’ll be toes that are clenching

And hands that are wrenching

The shot that you fear

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

The best of the balling

There’s awesome play calling

And lots of cold beer

It’s the most wonderful time

It’s the most wonderful time

It’s the most wonderful time

It’s the most wonderful time of the year
